Each year in the
U.S.
, an estimated 5,000 to 7,000 children die suddenly, without previous symptoms, from cardiac-related events. Currently, the only schools equipped with A.E.D. (Automatic External Defibrillator) devices in our area are high schools and junior high schools. The Junior Woman’s Club is leading an effort to ensure that elementary schools are equally prepared to save the lives of children and adults by placing an A.E.D. device in every public and private school in
Portage
County
and by providing CPR training to school personnel.
Our goal is ambitious. To supply every school with an A.E.D. unit (cost $1,550) and CPR training for ten personnel (cost $550), we need to raise $50,000. To date, the Stevens Point Junior Woman’s club has raised $5,000. Saint Michael's Foundation has stepped forward to support our efforts with a major contribution of $15,000 to kick start this remarkable project. $30,000 remains to meet our goal.
You can help us save lives! Please consider one of the options for contributing below:
1) Full sponsorship and naming of an A.E.D. unit $2,100
2) Partial sponsorship of an A.E.D. unit any amount
3) Sponsorship of a CPR class for a school (10 people)$550
4) Sponsorship of CPR training for one person $55
Sponsorship of an A.E.D. unit in the amount of $1,550 and up will be recognized with a dedication plate on the device with your name or the name of your organization. All other gifts will be recognized in a print ad, as well as signage at our annual Tinsel Trail fundraiser event.
